Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome is an endocrin disorder in women, it is caused by an imbalanced hormone level of Estrogen and Progesterone, this then leads to the growth of ovarian cycsts.

Many women with PCOS will experience a higher level of male Androgens, Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and Testosterone levels, these higher levels are the cause of hair loss, This is called Hyperandrogenism, in some  women with PCOS their hair follicles become sensitive to Androgens which decreases the growth of hair from the scalp follicles but promotes extra growth with facial hair.
